Undermount Sink

When you’re out and about searching for just the right bathroom sinks in Charlotte for your new bathroom renovation, you will run into a few different kinds of them depending on what stores and outlets you visit in the area, or where you search online to find them. One of the most popular types, undermount sinks, are sometimes confused with another that looks just like them. They are called drop-in sinks. Even though they and undermount sinks are similar, the way that our skilled bathroom remodeling contractors at Charlotte Bathroom Remodeling would likely install them are slightly different.

A drop-in sink would be installed from above the vanity, and the part of the sink that has the faucet and knobs (as well as the rim of the sink from the sides to the front of it) would sit partially atop your bathroom countertop. The name itself actually describes the way that it is installed, because it is literally dropped in a certain sized hole that was previously cut into your vanity countertop.

There is also a hole cut for undermount sinks, but the way that they are installed would be from the underside of your vanity countertop. With an undermount sink, none of the sink itself is above the countertop as with the drop in sink, and the entire vanity countertop itself would be flipped over to attach the sink from underneath. There are plenty of different styles and designs of either type of these sinks, and it simply depends on the homeowner which one they will want us to install.

Vanity Sink

Your vanity sink can be made out of a few different types of materials, and they come in all shapes, sizes and forms. For example, the average bathroom sink that homeowners choose is made from different types of ceramic, but some people actually choose certain kinds of metal sinks from time to time, such as stainless steel or brass. And, although there are not a lot of requests for it for bathroom vanities in Charlotte, there have been a few homeowners who requested glass sinks.

They actually are pretty durable, being that the glass that these sinks are made out of is tempered and quite thick. The only thing about glass sinks is that they have to be cleaned consistently, because water spots will show up a lot more easily. Still, all it takes is light bathroom cleaners do the trick as far as regularly maintaining the lovely appearance of this very unique type of vanity sink.

Vessel Sink

Vessel sinks don’t have a vanity countertop or cabinets, and homeowners who want one of these types of bathroom sinks are normally trying to save space within the bathroom area. These attractive freestanding sinks are all in one piece and have a vertical base, but are still mounted to the wall, just as regular wall-mounted sinks without a base are. Uniquely manufactured vessel sinks are actually one of the more popular bathroom sinks in Charlotte, being that they come in lots of lovely southern styles that local homeowners just love adding to their newly renovated bathrooms.
